The carpet bags of the past
have always fascinated me. Carpet bags were made in all shapes and sizes from bits of old carpets. Everyone who traveled carried
a carpet bag. They become the first suitcases.
The Franbag was
created as a whimsical 21st century carpet bag. The outer material is made from upholstery fabric of a contemporary design.
Ribbons, beads and yarn embellish the outside of each bag. They are lined with cotton, silk, or rayon. The handles are made
with bright colors that enhance the outer and inner fabric to match the lining.
